Job Description Job Description Purpose of Position: This position will be responsible for maintaining good relations between internal and external customers, and the company’s network of 3rd party providers. Accountabilities: Manage appointments for 3rd party carriers and brokers. Will be the first point of contact between carriers and customer for tracking and tracing purposes. Prepare daily routes and confirm routing with carrier and customer. Manage track process to ensure timely customer pickup and delivery. Manage collection of PODs Responsible for issuing of Com checks and lumpers. Update and maintain assigned reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Keep dispatchers aware of any delays or problems. Minimum Skills Required: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook). Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations. Strong sense of direction and good understanding of the U.S. inland. Knowledge of transportation handling best practices, with a good understanding of cold chain management. Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills. Must be flexible to work on holidays and weekends when required. Preferred: Knowledge or experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Previous experience with any transportation software programs is beneficial for this position. Less than Load (LTL) and Truck Load (TL) experience.
